i cant be bothered with horror films. they dont scare me--i just think they are stupid. and i wouldnt call some mentioned on here as horror at all.
jaws for instance. suspense--yes--horror no. watched it loads of times. gets better each time.
horror is easily my favourite genre of movie so i just thought i'd start a thread on it.. horror can be done badly and there are plenty of crap horror movies, no doubt about that.
but horror can also be done very well, too - often on a low budget.. plus, there are quite a lot of subgenres - slasher, supernatural, monster movies, body horror, psychological horror, zombie, vampire, etc.. so, do you like horror?.
what's your favourite subgenre?.

i remember when he made a "surprise " visit to the UK.
the congregation had to organise a coach at short notice to get us to London one weekday evening--probably about 1964 . it was at a big open venue--maybe twickers. he gave a very interesting talk--called---- " you must not forget"
he kept repeating that--as a sort of punchline "you must not forget"
ive never forgot that. no idea what he was on about though.
a revised list...feel free to add some questions.
how well do you know your organization's history?
1. do you know how long watchtower has been predicting the immanence of armageddon and the end of this system of things?
i'd love it if a cart attendant replied
" dont ask me mate--i'm just sat 'ere minding this cart in case somebody tries to pinch it "
or even better--if the dub-botherer persists with questions---and gets the reply--
" aah-fuck off "
i've been away from all things jobo for years.
i have little interest in them...perhaps some slight interest due to being raised in the corporation.. in my day, the preaching work was hammered into us relentlessly.
we felt obligated to go door knocking as much as possible.
if it wasnt for me being a member on here--i would have thought the cult had packed up :
the nearest kingdom hall---a very smart looking property--i think one of the first quick builds in the UK, is now a vets practice ( an animal hospital.)
i'm retired and home a lot--i havent been called on for ages--i never see any dubs slowly creeping about with briefcase in hand wearing a suit and tie.
i never get tracts or magazines through my letter box.
what it really wants now is a major change in its teaching--something that will send them packing in large numbers. say---armageddon is now just a figurative notion--or something that takes place invisibly--like a spirit battle between god and the devil. that should do it.

i have read extensively about the origins of birthdays, and i still don't get it.
but it's not what it means today.. even wedding veils were used to ward off the "evil eye".
but it's not what it means today.
